Air Products will highlight how its industrial gases, such as hydrogen, can help the power industry generate a cleaner future and reach its decarbonisation goals at POWERGEN International, from February 11 - 13, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Centre in Dallas, Texas, US.

With more than 80 years of industrial gas experience, and as the world's largest supplier of hydrogen, Air Products has the expertise needed to be a decarbonisation partner to the power generation industry as it works to transition to sustainable energy.

Those attending POWERGEN International are invited to visit Air Products' booth #1435 to speak with an industry specialist and learn more about how power generators can replace or blend natural gas with low-carbon intensity hydrogen to reduce carbon emissions and meet sustainability goals. Air Products' experts will also be on hand to discuss how power generators can utilise oxygen to improve combustion efficiency, find potential carbon capture and sequestration solutions, or introduce hydrogen to a company's process to reduce emissions.

Air Products' industry experts will present at the following sessions during POWERGEN International on topics including:

  • Preliminary results of hydrogen burner and boiler trials – Air Products is advancing the potential of hydrogen-fired boilers by integrating its burner technology with boiler systems. Early trials in Air Products' Clean Energy Lab have demonstrated stable 100% hydrogen combustion, as well as the ability to blend hydrogen with natural gas for emission reductions. During this session, Timothy Lebrecht, Air Products' Industry Manager, Chemical and Clean Energy Processes, will discuss details of the trial and showcase the impact of different hydrogen blends. Attendees will also gain insight into the commercial opportunities and ideal customer profiles for hydrogen adoption in the power generation section.
  • Hydrogen approaches to microgrid applications – As renewable energy becomes a larger part of the energy mix, hydrogen can serve as a reliable load-balancer or backup fuel, enhancing the resilience of microgrids. In this session, Lebrecht and David Duhamel, Air Products' Americas Strategy and Analytics Manager, will share insights into hydrogen supply chain logistics, power generation applications and innovative solutions to maximise operability. Attendees will also learn how hydrogen can complement renewable energy in microgrids, creating a sustainable, low-carbon energy ecosystem.

POWERGEN International is the premier networking and business hub for power generation professionals and solution providers. Bringing together power producers, utilities, engineering, procurement and construction professionals, consultants, original equipment manufacturers, and large scale energy users, it serves as a platform to explore innovative solutions amid the shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
