Groupe Matmut has announced the launch of a collaboration with INOCEL, initiating a project to acquire a hydrogen generator for its headquarters in Rouen, France.

This initiative aligns with Matmut’s strategic plan ‘Objective: Impact!’, which runs until 2026 and focuses on sustainability. It also supports the company’s CSR policy, as Matmut is committed to exploring cleaner energy solutions and aims to build a partnership with INOCEL.

While the project is designed to contribute to Matmut’s decarbonisation strategy, the company is also taking a proactive role in supporting INOCEL. Beyond its existing investment in INOCEL and the acquisition of the generator, Matmut plans to actively participate in its development, notably by involving its employees in joint working groups.

A key objective is to enable INOCEL to better understand the needs of similar companies ¬– from both a regulatory and technical perspective ¬– by leveraging the insights and expertise of Matmut’s professionals. This will help INOCEL refine its current and future hydrogen generator offerings to better meet market expectations.

Nicolas Gomart, Vice President and CEO of Matmut, stated: “Energy sovereignty, for both France and Europe, is also a major concern. Hydrogen fuel cells represent a promising, sustainable energy solution, and we are eager to contribute to its advancement.”

Jules Billiet, CEO of INOCEL, added: “This collaboration with Matmut is a key step in making hydrogen more accessible for tertiary infrastructure. Through this project, we demonstrate that INOCEL’s hydrogen generators provide decarbonised, high-performance energy solutions, tailored to companies seeking reliable and efficient alternatives for the energy transition.”
