Hystar AS, a provider of efficient PEM electrolysers, has announced the launch of Orion, its 20 MW Cluster designed for large scale hydrogen production.

Built on Hystar’s patented technology, Orion delivers industry-leading efficiency across the full operating range. Its inherently safe architecture offers consistent and reliable performance in demanding industrial environments and is designed for a wide range of project sizes.

“Orion will enable standardisation and accelerated deployment of large-scale green hydrogen projects,” said Fredrik Mowill, CEO of Hystar. “By combining high efficiency with a modular, cluster-based design, we enable our partners to scale projects quickly while also reducing both CAPEX and OPEX. ”

Each Orion cluster operates independently, enhancing plant flexibility and enabling a wider turn-down range. Its skid-mounted configuration simplifies transportation and installation, and the built-in redundancy maximises uptime and operational availability.

The launch builds on Hystar’s collaboration with McDermott to develop a turnkey 100 MW green hydrogen plant design, optimised for scalability, flexibility, safety, and cost efficiency. The integrated plant design is intended to offer customers a ready-to-deploy solution that reduces technical risk, simplifies procurement, and shortens time to market.
