Hydrogen UK, the largest trade association for the hydrogen industry in the UK, will be holding a flagship event, ‘Cheap, Clean & Green’, at the Conservative Party Conference on Tuesday 4 October.
The panel will launch Hydrogen UK’s ‘Hydrogen Accelerators’, a set of policy asks and recommendations for Government which are critical to the successful deployment of hydrogen in the UK.
Panellists are scheduled to include:
- Ben Houchen, Tees Valley Mayor
- Clare Jackson, Hydrogen UK
- Dr Angela Needle, Cadent Gas
- Nus Ghani, Minister of State for BEIS
- David Blackman, Policy Correspondent, Utility Week
- Alex Simakov, Senior Fellow, Energy & Environment Unit at Policy Exchange (Chair)
Looking ahead to the event, Hydrogen UK CEO Clare Jackson said: “In our role as the UK’s largest hydrogen trade body, we have been working with our members to develop a set of actions and recommendations for Government to turbo charge progress in hydrogen. These Hydrogen Accelerators provide detailed steps that industry and Government must take together to accelerate hydrogen’s journey in the UK as we enter this next phase. Swift action in these areas will secure the UK’s place as a global leader, create new jobs and economic prosperity and ensure that we deliver net zero cost-effectively.”
For those unable to attend the Conference, Policy Exchange will be live streaming the event, which Hydrogen UK is sharing on its social channels, further amplifying these vital recommendations.
