Hynion will participate in the testing and demonstration of new engine technology by providing hydrogen refuelling services at its hydrogen station in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is the Canadian company, Westport Fuel Systems, that is showing off its new engine technology to stakeholders in Sweden, in a truck from a leading vehicle manufacturer.
The vehicle that is now being refuelled and shown to stakeholders is a demo truck whose engine is powered by hydrogen. The company has developed a technology called H2HPDITM, which means 'Hydrogen High Pressure Direct Injection'.
"Westport has developed a climate-smart technology to use the efficient diesel cycle engine but instead with environmentally friendly gas fuel, in this case hydrogen. We are the market leader in terms of power, torque, efficiency and not least total cost. We now show trucks with our technology to stakeholders, and then it has to be refueled, and we appreciate that Hynion can assist us and supply hydrogen," says Anders Johansson, Vice President Heavy Duty OEM Westport Fuel Systems.
Hynion's hydrogen filling station in Gothenburg was certified and was opened for public refuelling in December 2022, after refurbishment and modernisation. "We are happy to be able to offer hydrogen and assistance for Westport's demonstrations, and hope that this is the start of a great future both for Westport and for Hynion" says Slavica Djuric, CEO of Hynion Sverige AB.
