Global Hydrogen Review,
Vissers Energy Group has officially signed a contract for the construction of the hydrogen filling station at the brand-new EnergyHub in Venlo. The station, which will be operational in June 2026, will have a capacity of 1000 kg/day of hydrogen and will be equipped with both a 350-bar and a 700-bar dispenser. This makes it suitable for both passenger cars and heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks.
Thanks to the high filling pressures, refuelling is fast and efficient: passenger cars are back on the road in less than five minutes, while trucks can be fully refuelled in 15 minutes.
The hydrogen filling station is an important part of the EnergyHub Venlo, where Vissers Energy Group focuses on a complete range of traditional and sustainable fuels, electric charging infrastructure, food concepts, washing facilities and other services.
"With the realisation of this hydrogen filling station, we are strengthening Venlo's position as a logistics hotspot and facilitating international hydrogen transport between the Netherlands and Germany. This represents an important step toward emission-free mobility," said Gerbert Vissers, CEO of Vissers Energy Group.
With this initiative, Vissers Energy Group underscores its ambition to play a role in the energy transition and contribute to the sustainability of mobility in the region and beyond.
Resato Hydrogen Technology
Vissers Energy Group is collaborating with Resato Hydrogen Technology to build the hydrogen refuelling station. Resato develops and supplies complete hydrogen refuelling stations that contribute to a reliable and safe hydrogen network at home and abroad. The company has extensive experience with high-pressure technology and is involved in several leading hydrogen projects in Europe.
"With this project, Vissers Energy Group is taking an important step in the further rollout of hydrogen infrastructure. We are proud to contribute to this sustainable development as a technological partner," commented Rob Castien, CEO of Resato Hydrogen Technology. "This station proves that scalable and future-proof hydrogen solutions are already available today."
