Plug Power’s Georgia green hydrogen plant has closed out its best month ever across every key performance indicator (KPI), marking another milestone in Plug’s journey to deliver reliable, domestic, and scalable hydrogen production in the US.

A milestone month of performance

In August 2025, the Georgia plant delivered record highs across every KPI:

  • Total production: 324 t
  • Uptime: 97.0%
  • Availability: 99.7% (excluding 2.7% downtime due to a power utility outage beyond the company’s control)
  • Efficiency: 92.8%

Proving green hydrogen at scale

By building and operating one of the largest green hydrogen plants in the US, Plug Power has not only delivered on production but also validated the strength of the GenEco electrolyser technology. Running these systems at scale proves that the electrolyser can deliver high-performance backed by real-world results.

Georgia’s record month underscores Plug Power’s position as one of the first companies to build a commercial scale green hydrogen network in the US. With plants now operating in Georgia, Tennessee, and Louisiana, and more in development, Plug Power is proving that green hydrogen works at scale.

“Our Georgia plant is running with greater consistency and strength every day,” said Andy Marsh, Plug CEO. “I want to congratulate and thank the team for their expertise and hard work in achieving these results. Plug is setting the path for the acceleration of the hydrogen economy, and this milestone is proof of the progress we’re delivering.”
