Four Zeros Energy Ltd has entered into a partnership agreement with Swiss Life-owned Vergia AS to develop and finance a portfolio of green hydrogen and derivatives projects across the UK.
Their first initiative is the St Austell Green Hydrogen project in Cornwall, which was shortlisted in April 2025 by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero under the UK Government’s second Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR2).
The proposed facility will produce green hydrogen to replace natural gas in mining operations around St Austell. It is expected that the 20 MW electrolyser will have a green hydrogen output of around 2000 tpy. Currently plans have been made for the facility to begin operation in 2028.
Four Zeros Energy director Murray Davies, said: “Partnering with Vergia provides the technical depth and financial strength required to accelerate the commercial rollout of green-hydrogen projects in the UK.”
