Elcogen, a European manufacturer of technology that enables the efficient production of affordable green hydrogen and emission-free electricity, has announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with JNK India Ltd to explore collaboration opportunities in the field of solid oxide technology.
This development follows the appointment of Anil Srikar Pavuluri as Elcogen’s Business Development Director for India and APAC in January and a successful week at India Energy Week 2026 in Goa, India. During the event, Anil, together with Mikael Jansen, Global Director of Business Development at Elcogen, engaged with a wide range of key stakeholders across the Indian energy ecosystem.
The MoU with JNK India Ltd, signed during the event, represents Elcogen’s first with an Indian company providing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction services and an initial step in the company’s expansion into this strategic market.
Under the MoU, the two companies will assess technical and commercial pathways for utilising Elcogen’s proprietary solid oxide stacks and multi-stack modules within applications that recover and utilise waste heat. Initial areas of interest include hard-to-abate sectors such as green ammonia, green urea, e-fuels, Power-to-X, and other global applications. The parties will also evaluate the potential for hybrid system concepts, including the combination of alkaline and solid oxide technologies, as a possible route toward more cost-effective green hydrogen production.
“The global energy industry is being transformed by the growth of renewable energy, decarbonisation initiatives, and digital technologies. Green Hydrogen and low-carbon fuels are shaping the design and execution of future energy projects,’ said Dipak Bharuka, Whole Time Director and CEO of JNK India Ltd. “As an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction collaborator, JNK India Ltd helps customers adopt the most suitable solutions for their specific requirements. Our collaboration with Elcogen is a strategic step towards strengthening the green energy ecosystem and supporting our customers in achieving their energy transition goals. Through innovation and collaboration, JNK India Ltd will continue to support the global transition towards a sustainable and low-carbon energy future.”
The MoU supports Elcogen’s efforts to establish a presence in the Indian market, working with JNK India Limited, a company with strong engineering, EPC, and industrial project delivery capabilities in energy and process industries. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to identify opportunities to develop efficient and scalable solid oxide-based solutions that can contribute to India’s clean energy transition.
