Global Hydrogen Review,
The MoU aims to improve the overall efficiency of the Shinsejong Bitdream Headquarter’s CHP plant and facilitate its transition into an eco-friendly plant by integrating technologies and products developed by Doosan Fuel Cell and Doosan Enerbility into the plant. The Shinsejong Bitdream Headquarter’s CHP plant began commercial operations in June 2024, with a capacity of 630 MW of electricity (420 MW from gas turbines and 210 MW from steam turbines) and 340 Gcal/h of thermal energy, using LNG as its primary fuel. Doosan Enerbility supplied the plant’s steam turbines.
Through technological cooperation, these three companies will collaborate to develop an optimised combined heat and power (CHP) mode utilising up to 40 MW of hydrogen fuel cells and enhance automatic generation control (AGC) operational technologies for grid stabilisation. Additionally, the companies plan to explore the development of business models incorporating these technologies into the CHP plant by establishing a collaborative working group and maintaining ongoing cooperation.
Doosan Fuel Cell’s Vice President, Seungjun Lee, stated: “This MoU has enabled the development of a new eco-friendly business model that enhances generation efficiency, and additional revenue growth is expected upon its development. Going forward, we are committed to developing various business models that can create greater synergy through collaboration with other companies, in addition to existing orders.”
