Nilsson Energy begins construction of a new hydrogen filling station along the E20, at the exit to Nykvarn in Sweden. The hydrogen filling station is expected to be commissioned in the summer of 2024 and will solely offer green hydrogen.

Nykvarn, an attractive growth municipality east of Södertälje and a key hub for heavy transport, now has the opportunity to mitigate the environmental impact through this infrastructure investment.

Roger Göthberg, CEO of Nilsson Energy, said: "Our collaboration with the municipality of Nykvarn has been seamless. We are delighted to be part of the municipality's progressive development and to contribute infrastructure for refuelling hydrogen-powered vehicles.”

"Nilsson Energy is taking the leadership role in the green energy revolution, and it is inspiring to see how they realise the vision of a sustainable future, not only for the company but for society. I look forward to following the development of this hydrogen filling station and how it will contribute to shaping our society's sustainable future," said Anders Önbäck, Chairman of the municipal board in Nykvarn municipality.

In addition to Nykvarn, Nilsson Energy will also establish a hydrogen filling station at Port 6 in the Port of Gothenburg, one of Sweden's most truck-intensive locations. The company also established Sweden's first public hydrogen filling station in Mariestad in 2018.
