Corinth Pipeworks, steel pipe segment of Cenergy Holdings, announces that Jemena Asset Management Pty Ltd has awarded a contract for its Port Kembla Lateral Pipeline project to CPW America Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Corinth Pipeworks.
The contract covers approximately 13 km of 18 in. diameter High Frequency Welded (HFW) line pipe, certified to transport up to 100% hydrogen, which will include FBE coating, internal epoxy lining, and the supply of induction bends. The HFW pipes will be manufactured in Corinth’s facility in Greece and delivered directly to Australia in 2022.
The construction of the gas pipeline will connect the future Port Kembla Energy Terminal to the existing 797 km Eastern Gas Pipeline. At the same time, Jemena is exploring the role of hydrogen in domestic, transport, and commercial settings. As such, Jemena has selected to utilise Corinth’s solution of high-grade steel pipes for the future transmission of up to 100% hydrogen.
This award highlights the significance of the company's technologically-advanced solution for hydrogen certified pipes and the utilisation of its hydrogen testing laboratory. The pipes will be tested in-house in full compliance with the requirements of the ASME B31.12 code.
