The hub will help integrate renewable energy by producing and storing green hydrogen for long duration energy storage. Mitsubishi Power will leverage Emerson’s hydrogen production experience and automation software expertise to increase safety, decrease costs and simplify maintenance across the life cycle of the facility.
Independent energy expert and assurance provider DNV has been awarded four frame contracts with Energinet TSO, Denmark’s national transmission system operator for electricity and gas, for ‘green deal’ work on the Danish transmission gas grid in relation to PtX (Power to X).
The green ammonia plant, to be built by Skovgaard Energy and their Danish project partners, Topsoe and Vestas, will be the world’s first dynamic green ammonia plant, where renewable electricity from wind and solar will be connected directly to the electrolyser.
The trials managed to produce approximately six litres of green hydrogen over a two-hour test run. The trial was so successful that the energy yacht outperformed expectations and could have produced over ten times more of the green renewable gas.
The pair intend to jointly promote policies to support the development of low carbon hydrogen, renewable power, and green steel in Europe.
The companies believe that hydrogen engines are one piece of the net zero puzzle, and will utilise the technologies and expertise each company has accumulated to study the potential of hydrogen engines in heavy-duty vehicles.
The transactions include a US$0.9 million multi-product sale to a global critical minerals company. This is Getech’s largest contract to date in the critical minerals sector.
The project, in its initial phase alone, will remove nearly 7.6 million litres of diesel per year, which represents more than 20 000 t of CO2 equivalent, or removing nearly 4300 cars from the roads of Québec.
The H3 project looks to capture up to two million t of CO2 per annum and contribute to achieving Net Zero in the wider Humber industrial region by 2040.
The hydrogen produced in Estonia will be used for hydrogen fuelling public transport, heavy duty vehicles, rail, shipping, aviation, and other transport modalities. Furthermore, it will be used as feedstock for industry, net balancing and even heating cases in the built environment.
The project is expected to produce up to 2500 tpy of hydrogen. This equates to roughly 300 000 gigajoules of clean-burning gas energy that can replace the equivalent annual natural gas usage of approximately 3300 households.

The vessel will combine the class-leading fuel cell systems from TECO 2030 and energy-efficient catamaran design with SES technology from Umoe Mandal. The vessel will have the capacity to transport 200 – 300 passengers at speeds above 35 knots while sailing over long distances.
The Net Zero HYdrogen Fund is part of the UK Government’s initiatives to promote the production of home-grown green hydrogen and is a means to achieving the ambitious 10 GW of domestic production by 2030, of which ‘at least’ 5 GW will need to be from electrolytic sources.
