LAVO has welcomed the funding announcement made by the Queensland Government’s ‘Invest in Queensland’ programme to support the construction of the company’ hydrogen fuel cell technology production facility in Springfield, Queensland, Australia.
The facility will be developed by Nedstack Australia Pty Ltd, a joint venture (JV) between LAVO Hydrogen Storage Technology Pty Ltd and Nedstack of the Netherlands, to commence construction in 2022.
The JV will initially manufacture proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell technology for use in LAVO’s Hydrogen Energy Storage System (HESS). The facility will expand to produce a range of fuel cells to meet the growing domestic and international demand required for the hydrogen economy.
