Global Hydrogen Review,
Trina Green Hydrogen has recently secured a major order for 96 MW of alkaline electrolysis cells in China, marking another milestone in the company’s growing footprint in the domestic green hydrogen market. The winning project is a large scale, integrated wind-solar-hydrogen production initiative located in western China.
Drawing on the region’s abundant wind and solar resources, the project will generate green electricity to power on-site hydrogen production. The resulting green hydrogen will then be transported via dedicated pipelines to a chemical industry base in northern China, where it will be deployed at scale across chemical production processes. In doing so, the project connects the full green hydrogen value chain, from clean power generation and hydrogen production, through storage and transport, to end-use industrial consumption, forming a complete, commercially closed-loop system.
On the new energy side, the project calls for 300 MW of wind power and 200 MW of photovoltaic capacity, supported by 75 MW / 150 MWh of energy storage. Once completed, the facility is expected to generate approximately 1.196 billion kWh of clean electricity annually. The hydrogen production unit will feature a green hydrogen production line with a capacity of 44 000 Nm3/hr, with a projected output of around 20 000 tpy of green hydrogen, supplying large scale, low-carbon hydrogen to help drive the transformation and upgrading of the traditional chemical industry.
In 2026, Trina Green Hydrogen has continued to accelerate its global expansion, delivering strong results at home and abroad. To date, the company has completed delivery and commissioning of 80 MW (16 000 Nm3/hr) of alkaline electrolysis cells domestically, while also shipping multiple sets of integrated hydrogen production and refuelling equipment to customers in Europe, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and other markets.
