Global Hydrogen Review,
Snowfox Discovery, a natural hydrogen exploration company, has announces it has successfully accessed more than 10 000 acres of exploration leases in Audubon County, Iowa. The company expects the exploration work programme to result in a drilling campaign in late 2027/2028.
This access marks Snowfox’s first major US land position and represents an important milestone in the company’s strategy to build a diversified global portfolio of natural hydrogen opportunities.
Audubon County is located in what we consider to be the most prospective region of the Mid-Continental Rift system. The selection of this specific area is a result of Snowfox’s exploration approach, which combines geophysics, geochemistry and proprietary geological modelling.
"We are delighted to have completed our initial land access work and wish to thank our leaseholders and indeed all the people of Audubon County for their incredible support, “ said Daniel McMahon, CEO of Snowfox Discovery Ltd.
"By combining our unique hydrogen exploration technologies and evaluation workflows with this strategic land position, we are moving forward to de-risk and unlock a globally significant clean energy resource."
The project also benefits from proximity to existing ammonia and fertiliser infrastructure, and a potential pathway to early industrial demand.
