Global Hydrogen Review,
Green hydrogen developer Hydrogen of Dutch Origin (H2DO) has awarded part of the engineering scope for the Offshore Midsized Green (OMG-H2) Hydrogen Feasibility and Concept Study to H2sea.
The OMG-H2 project is supported through a grant awarded under the Dutch Government’s Topsector Energy (TSE) programme for Hydrogen and Green Chemistry.
The feasibility study focuses on the conceptual design, installation and operation of a 30 - 50 MW offshore green hydrogen production facility in the Dutch North Sea.
H2sea will start with the Hydrogen Facility Design work package, focusing on subsystem engineering. The objective of this work package is to mature subsystem analysis to an acceptable Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and integrate the findings into the overall installation design.
This will support the technical feasibility and robustness of the offshore hydrogen concept, while also helping to identify scalability potential and support future project decision-making.
As a worldwide frontrunner in offshore hydrogen engineering, H2sea will bring its extensive expertise and lessons learned from previous offshore hydrogen projects into the OMG-H2 study, supporting the further development of scalable and practical offshore hydrogen solutions for the North Sea.
