Luxembourg Hydrogen Valley (LuxHyVal) has reached a decisive milestone. Following Enovos' final investment decision (FID), the project has entered its implementation phase, bringing Luxembourg closer to local renewable hydrogen production.

LuxHyVal is a project aimed at producing renewable hydrogen in Luxembourg from renewable electricity.

Following Enovos' FID, LuxHyVal has moved from the planning phase to the implementation phase. Engineering and construction activities have begun. Construction is scheduled to start in 4Q26 , while the facility is expected to be commissioned in 2027.

LuxHyVal brings together partners from the energy, industry, mobility, and research sectors to develop renewable hydrogen solutions in Luxembourg.

The project benefits from the support of the EU, the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and the Luxembourg State, reflecting its importance for the country's energy transition and the development of low-carbon solutions.

At the heart of the project will be a 5 MW electrolyser powered by renewable electricity, producing locally renewable hydrogen for industrial and mobility applications in Luxembourg.

By supporting these sectors, LuxHyVal intends to contribute to the development of concrete low-carbon energy solutions and to advance the energy transition of Luxembourg.

Through LuxHyVal, Enovos, alongside the Encevo Group and Luxenergie, is contributing to developing the hydrogen value chain in Luxembourg and building a more sustainable and resilient energy system.

As Anouk Hilger, Head of Renewables Luxembourg at Enovos, explained: “With this final investment decision, LuxHyVal has reached a decisive milestone. It marks a major step forward in the realisation of our green hydrogen pilot plant, designed to support carbon-free mobility and more sustainable industrial uses”.

Projects such as LuxHyVal demonstrate how the energy transition becomes a reality through concrete infrastructure and innovative energy solutions.

By producing renewable hydrogen locally, the project represents a new step towards a more sustainable energy future for Luxembourg.
