SIAD Macchine Impianti (SIAD MI), a leader in the design and manufacture of hydrogen compressors with thousands of units installed all over the world, has announced the signing of a framework agreement with Nel for the supply of hydrogen compressors.

Nel is a global technology company, dedicated to the development of green hydrogen equipment such as electrolysers and fuelling stations, enabling industry to transition to green hydrogen. Through its parent company SIAD MI, which has been producing and distributing technical gases for almost a century plus its direct experience with thousands of customers throughout the world, SIAD MI boasts a specific knowledge at a highly-technological level to compress hydrogen and, in particular, green hydrogen.

Characterised by a strong green approach, through the supply of innovative and low environmental impact solutions, SIAD MI has proved to be the ideal partner for this collaboration: its efficient, reliable and safe solutions are contributing positively to the achievement of Nel’s goal to outcompete production of grey hydrogen on price.

“We are very pleased to have signed this agreement. It is very important to provide our customers with competitive solutions in terms of TCO (Total Cost or Ownership): through this framework agreement we have achieved this goal, which is even more significant in the green hydrogen application", says Fabio Margheritti, Business Development Manager at SIAD MI.

The first step of this successful collaboration took the form of an opening order including the supply of two compressors for wet hydrogen (model HMS4-4), and one oxygen compressor (model MS3-3), an application in which SIAD MI is a world leader, installed in a 20 MW plant located in Sweden.

“The Agreement with SIAD MI is an important step in enabling Nel to further ramp-up deliveries of competitive water electrolysis systems for production of compressed green hydrogen", Says Marius Larsen, Supply Chain Director in Nel.

“With respect to the global climate emergency, this agreement demonstrates the commitment of SIAD MI and its partners towards decarbonisation, in the transition from traditional sources of energy supply, such as coal and fossil fuels, to renewable energy sources”, says Mauro Acquati, Compressors Division Sales Manager at SIAD MI.

Nel and SIAD MI will cooperate in a synergistic and productive way, united by the common goal of providing efficient solutions aimed at the production of green hydrogen, and always towards an increasingly sustainable future.
