CHARBONE Corp., a vertically integrated industrial gases company focused on production, distribution, and storage of clean ultra-high purity (UHP) hydrogen and other strategic industrial gases, has announced the delivery of one of its electrolysers to its flagship site in Sorel-Tracy, Québec, Canada.

The arrival of this essential equipment represents one of the most significant milestones achieved to date as part of Phase 1B of the project. It confirms tangible progress in CHARBONE’s development plan to increase its clean UHP hydrogen production capacity and meet growing demand from its industrial customers.

A decisive step toward increased production capacity

Designed to produce hydrogen through water electrolysis, the electrolyser is the technological core of the next phase of production at the Sorel-Tracy site. Its delivery now enables CHARBONE’s teams, construction contractors and technical partners to begin the next steps involving its positioning, installation, and integration into the Sorel-Tracy site infrastructure.

Civil engineering work and foundation preparation have been planned to accommodate the main production equipment. Activities will proceed in accordance with the company’s execution schedule, including component assembly, mechanical and electrical connections, testing, and commissioning.

This development is part of CHARBONE’s modular and phased strategy, which enables the company to add production capacity in line with demand while maintaining a disciplined approach to its development.

“It is with immense pride that we announce the arrival of our electrolyser in Sorel-Tracy today. This is far more than the delivery of a piece of equipment, it represents the achievement of a pivotal step in realising our vision and one of the most important milestones in the company’s history. The risks associated with delivery are now behind us,” said Dave Gagnon, President and CEO of CHARBONE. “This achievement also reflects the exceptional commitment of our employees, partners, suppliers, and all stakeholders contributing to the development of our flagship site. We are now entering a new phase of execution that will strengthen our ability to serve our key customers and create sustainable value for our shareholders. Our previously communicated timeline of a fall launch remains on track, and we look forward to providing further updates as we advance through the next stages of commissioning and ramp-up.”
