Global Hydrogen Review,
The project comprises the construction of the new low sulfur diesel facility encompassing the development of a new hydrogen plant at the country’s biggest integrated complex. It aims to help reduce Britain’s reliance on diesel imports and pave the way for the potential production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The project will increase the output by 38 000 bpd.
Aligned with the leading energy engineering consultancy’s key drivers of safety, quality, cost, and technical requirements, EnerMech’s specialist team will provide a single point of accountability within their scope for the brownfield project.
A team of EnerMech project managers, engineers and multi-disciplined personnel will work inside the facility and deliver construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up services on key components such as a diesel hydrotreater, steam methane-reforming hydrogen plant, diesel storage tank and amine treatment system.
EnerMech’s bespoke System Integrity Management (SIMPro) software will be utilised as a completely traceable integrity management system to record data for flange management, bolt torque/tensioning, on-site machining, nitrogen purging, camera inspection, hydro-testing and PSV management services. This advanced web-based management solution ensures high-quality, easily accessible information and is significantly faster, delivering more accurate electronically generated work pack generation.
Chuck Davison, EnerMech CEO, said: "This contract represents a major milestone for the business as it partners us with KENT Energies to support ExxonMobil and one of the UK's most strategic petrochemical sites. It also utilises our core services on a hydrogen system, which is a first for our organisation. Our proven expertise and innovative SIMPro solution have also positioned EnerMech as a trusted partner in this groundbreaking project, paving the way for future collaborations within the hydrogen sector in Europe and beyond.”
